Reigning Queen

Mofya Nikoletta Chisenga,  born on the 5th of January 1983 and the first born of a family of four;  two girls and two boys, is the new Miss Universe Zambia.

Mofya holds a Diploma in Economics from the University of Zambia and plans to further her studies after her reign.

Currently she works as a Marketing Executive at Microlink Technologies and is also a Model for Spectrum Centre, the makers of the Princess Collection hair products and Pharmanova who manufacture and distribute  Body creams in Lusaka.  She loves modelling, reading, sightseeing and travelling.

"Winning Miss Universe Zambia title has  so far been my greatest achievement in the beauty industry and this has given me a platform on which I can contribute to the development of our lovely country Zambia. I pledge my total support to Organizations that are willing to work with me in promoting and advancing our country Zambia.

With the title, Mofya has adopted two (2) organizations of which she supports viz;

- A Community School for the less privileged and Orphaned children.

 - A support group of people on ARVs (HIV positive people who are on treatment to enhance the quality of their lives).

However, one very important aspect to tackle is women empowerment and enhancement. With this, women can be more assertive and strive for gender equality inching towards a perfect balance. Mofya will serve as a role model to the young Zambian women and help in educating them on issues such as trying to combat the deadly HIV and AIDS which has taken a tremendous toll on the Nation. She will therefore concentrate on gender equality issues such as educating the girl child, and educating expectant HIV / AIDS mothers on the preventative measures of transmitting the disease to their unborn children.

Mofya Chisenga, will not only represent Zambia at the Miss Universe Pageant but will also embark on some fund raising projects to help the above identified programmes.

Mofya also urges all young ladies to come out of their hiding places and be more assertive so that they can contribute positively to the development of their various nations.

"On behalf of the Miss Universe Zambia Organisation, I would like to thank all the sponsors and all the people who made all of this possible."
